About me
Amanda Lynn Herman is the Principal of Jemez Valley PreK and Elementary School within Jemez Valley Public Schools. A National Board Certified Teacher and a 2023 Golden Apple Award winner, Amanda is deeply committed to the Science of Reading and the "Right to Read" movement. She holds a Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP) certification and is extensively trained in Orton-Gillingham and LETRS methodologies.
Under her leadership, Jemez Valley has pioneered collaborative intervention models, ensuring that every student receives individualized, high-quality instruction. Her work continues to focus on creating systemic change that supports both educator development and student literacy success.
