About me
Dr. Heidi Beverine-Curry is a thought and implementation leader for evidence-aligned literacy transformation, with a special interest in RTI/MTSS. She is a frequent guest speaker on the Science of Reading and has presented widely at conferences and events across the United States and internationally.
With over two decades of experience, Dr. Heidi Beverine-Curry spent 21 years working in public schools, utilizing her certifications in Elementary Education, K-12 Special Education, and K-12 Reading Education. A champion for evidence-aligned literacy instruction since beginning her doctoral coursework in 2006, she has led numerous successful reform efforts. She was a founding executive board member of The Reading League (TRL-National) and later served as its Chief Academic Officer. In that role, she built and oversaw the Professional Development department, where she designed and supervised learning opportunities for over 80 partnering school districts. Her academic background also includes serving as an adjunct professor at Syracuse University and SUNY Oswego, where she specialized in teaching clinical reading intervention coursework.
Currently based in Central New York, she manages her own consultancy, HBC Literacy Consulting, while remaining active in a public school district. This dual role allows her to stay immersed in a diverse, multi-lingual, real-world school context while supporting national and global educators with her expertise.
