About me
Erica Hidalgo is a Senior Educational Services Manager with CORE (Consortium on Reaching Excellence in Education), where she supports schools and districts with professional learning and coaching services designed to improve literacy instruction. She specializes in working alongside school and district leaders to develop sustainable systems and high-quality professional learning frameworks.
Throughout her career, Erica Hidalgo has served in critical leadership roles across Texas and New Mexico. As a former principal, her work centered on shifting literacy practices to align with evidence-based research, supporting English Language Learners, and developing robust bilingual programs. Later, as a curriculum director, she focused on the selection and implementation of high-quality instructional materials and led a systems-level approach to leadership through the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process. She was also instrumental in overseeing instructional coach programs and designing new teacher induction initiatives. Her expertise has been recognized at the state level through her appointment to the New Mexico Public Education Department (NM PED) K-5+ Extended Learning Time Advisory Board and her service as a member of the NM PED’s Structured Literacy Working Group.
Erica holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a teaching certification from Texas Woman’s University, along with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of New Mexico. In her free time, she enjoys Pilates, novice woodworking, and traveling with her family.
