About me
Katie Keown, EdD, MA, serves as a Literacy Director at Student Achievement Partners, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving student outcomes by ensuring all children receive equitable and essential instruction. She is a specialist in secondary literacy initiatives, focusing on systems alignment and the delivery of high-quality instruction.
Prior to her leadership at Student Achievement Partners, Katie Keown contributed her expertise to the assessment team at HMH-Riverside. Her foundational experience as an educator includes teaching middle and high school students in Illinois and Mississippi, providing her with a direct perspective on the needs of secondary learners. She is a highly trained expert in the field, holding a doctorate in Reading Science from Mount St. Joseph University. Her work now involves extensive teacher training and the development of strategies to ensure all students, particularly those in secondary grades, receive the reading instruction they deserve.
Now serving in a national capacity, she continues to focus on systemic change and instructional equity to bridge achievement gaps for children across the country.
