About me
Laura Bryant is a dual-language elementary educator with 18 years of experience across general education and bilingual settings. A National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) since 2019, she is recognized for her commitment to professional excellence and her expertise in serving multilingual populations.
Currently a Doctoral Candidate at NMSU in Education Leadership and Administration, Laura Bryant focuses her research on the lived experiences and leadership pathways of Latinas in PK–12 district-level roles. Her academic work explores critical themes of equity, representation, and systemic access within school district hierarchies. Professionally, she specializes in equity-driven lesson design and culturally responsive literacy practices. She is a strong advocate for using structured academic discourse and translanguaging to increase instructional rigor while honoring the linguistic assets students bring to the classroom.
Laura is a frequent presenter at major conferences such as La Cosecha and the New Mexico Association for Bilingual Education (NMABE), where she shares instructional strategies on English & Spanish Language Development. Her primary mission is to bridge the gap between structured literacy research and culturally responsive pedagogy, ensuring that evidence-based instruction is both effective and affirming for every learner.
