Melody Ilk, M.A., is a national literacy consultant with extensive experience supporting schools and districts nationwide. She holds degrees and professional licenses in both special and general education, as well as in school administration. Her career includes deep work in Title I settings as a classroom teacher, special educator, interventionist, instructional coach, literacy coordinator, and school improvement consultant.Melody specializes in designing and implementing scientifically based literacy systems and school improvement frameworks that lead to measurable gains in student achievement. She is an approved consultant for the state of Colorado and partners with schools to build strong instructional infrastructures grounded in assessment, data analysis, differentiated tiers of instruction, and shared leadership. Melody also supports several state literacy initiatives and grants. Her collaborative work with educators, principals, and superintendents has resulted in significant improvements in literacy outcomes and instructional effectiveness across all tiers of support. A veteran LETRS facilitator since the program’s first edition, Melody is the lead author and facilitator of LETRS for Administrators, contributing her expertise to help leaders build sustainable, research-aligned literacy practices.
