About me
Michelle Hopper is a passionate literacy advocate dedicated to ensuring every student has the right to read and write. With over 17 years of experience in New Mexico, she brings a deep understanding of both classroom practice and educational leadership to her work in the field of structured literacy.
Throughout her career, Michelle Hopper has served in various capacities including teacher, interventionist, principal, and instructional coach. She currently serves as a Structured Literacy Coach for the Central Region Educational Cooperative and as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado School of Education and Human Development. In her academic role, she supports current teachers and prepares future educators in evidence-based literacy practices. She holds a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and is a LETRS Local Certified Facilitator and CORE Certified, credentials that reflect her unwavering commitment to research-aligned literacy instruction.
Currently residing in New Mexico, she balances her professional dedication with an active personal life. Outside of her work, she enjoys running, biking, hiking, horseback riding, and paddle boarding with her family.
