Patricia Lozano is a distinguished bilingual educator with 25 years of experience shaping the minds and hearts of learners in New Mexico. Currently a second-grade dual language teacher in the Las Cruces Public School District, she brings a deeply personal and professional commitment to the field of bilingual education.
Raised in the border town of El Paso, Texas, in a Spanish-speaking household, Patricia Lozano developed an early passion for the intersection of language and identity. Over her two-and-a-half-decade career, she has mastered various instructional frameworks, including transitional, maintenance, and dual language models. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education with endorsements in Bilingual Education, TESOL, and Reading, as well as a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Her classroom is recognized as a dynamic and inclusive space where innovative strategies bridge linguistic gaps and make rigorous learning accessible to all.
Beyond her work with students, Patricia is a leader and mentor within the educational community. she has led professional development sessions on dual language instruction, collaborated on culturally responsive curriculum design, and mentored early-career teachers. A firm believer in the power of community, she works closely with families to build the school-home connections essential for student success. Patricia remains a steadfast advocate for equitable programming and the empowerment of English learners, dedicated to opening doors to a bilingual future.
