About me
Dr. Brenna Westerhoff is an expert in the intersection of literacy and organizational science, currently serving as the Manager of Learning and Development at 95 Percent Group. She spent the first twenty years of her career inside schools as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and eventually principal of Harrison Street Elementary, where she famously led the school from an "Underperforming" to "Commendable" state designation.
Throughout her career, Dr. Brenna Westerhoff has focused on building the organizational conditions that allow high-quality instruction to take root. She has trained hundreds of educators across school and district teams, national conferences, and private organizations, translating research from the Science of Reading, writing instruction, and organizational change into practical frameworks for immediate classroom use. She holds an Ed.D. in Organizational Change and Leadership from USC, a Type 75 Administrative Certification, and a Type 10 Reading Specialist Certification. Her current research focuses on why identical programs produce dramatically different results across schools and the specific actions leaders can take to ensure instructional success.
Now working at a national level, she brings her experience in turnaround leadership and organizational science to every room she enters. Her mission is to understand and solve the puzzle of why good instruction so often fails to spread, ensuring that evidence-based practices lead to measurable student success.
