About me
Danica Newton is a Level 3 secondary educator and instructional leader with nearly two decades of teaching experience across elementary, middle, and high school settings, currently serving in the Math Department at Cloudcroft High School since 2016. She has taught a wide range of mathematics courses, including Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II. Mrs. Newton currently teaches IMP Math I, IMP Math III, AP PreCalculus, and AP Calculus. She also supports students through tutoring, assessment preparation, and STEM enrichment opportunities. In addition to her classroom work, Mrs. Newton has served in numerous state and district leadership roles, including the New Mexico TSA State Advisory Board, the New Mexico Governor’s STEM Challenge Steering Committee, and statewide mathematics pathway initiatives through the New Mexico Public Education Department. She is an active presenter on topics related to SAT strategies, equitable access to advanced coursework, technology integration, and assessment practices, and has received multiple recognitions for excellence in education and STEM leadership, including being named 2022 VFW New Mexico State Teacher of the Year.
