El Paso native and Truth or Consequences raised, Lezlie Arnold moved to Silver City in 1989, where she began her college education at Western New Mexico University. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Arts in Teaching - Reading, and currently holds a New Mexico PreK–12 Level III-A license. She holds endorsements in Business Education, Language Arts, Reading, and History.
Lezlie brings more than a decade of experience teaching 9th–12th grade English Language Arts, including Advanced Placement English Language and Composition, Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition, and Dual Credit English courses. In addition to her classroom experience, she spent 10 years as an Admissions Recruiter at Western New Mexico University, helping students navigate the college admissions process and achieve their educational goals.
She has also served as an Instructional Specialist and currently works as a Disciplinary Literacy Coach in New Mexico, supporting secondary schools through embedded coaching cycles, professional learning communities, classroom modeling, and instructional planning. In this role, she collaborates with teachers, administrators, and district leaders to strengthen Tier 1 literacy instruction across content areas through Reading Apprenticeship strategies, disciplinary literacy practices, and data-informed instructional support. Her work includes facilitating professional development, leading PLC conversations around student data and common formative assessments, modeling literacy routines in classrooms, and supporting schools in implementing DASH and MLSS-aligned literacy initiatives that promote culturally and linguistically responsive instruction for all students.
